Bead Amigas!

I am now at mid-week with the group that we have down here! It's a group of about 15 women from North Georgia, with a couple extras thrown in. The women are focusing on a few different projects: teacher's appreciation week, a storytellers project, and the Bead Amigas.
We are starting Bead Amigas in the village of Los Rotarios which is a lot smaller than the Villa, comprising of mas o menos 30 houses. We have 7 women that will be our core group, 3 that were trained last year, and 4 new ones from this week. They have all learned so fast this week, and are so fun to be with. They range in age from 16-32, some have children, some don't, some are married, some aren't, they're all different.
We originally hoped that after this week, they each of the 3 orginals could make 50 bracelets and have them ready by June, but after this week, we're realizing that everything is going to start moving MUCH faster than that. They are so fast! And not only that, but now there is 7 of them! So, we're going to have to start picking up the marketing end and get the packaging going. Roseann has said that she has so much interest in the project in the States, she doesn't know what to do! The women are so excited about the project, and it feels so good to be able to bring them money and see their finished products. So, it's really a cool time and I can't wait to see how this project unfolds! More pictures and videos to come!
